AFCEA Hampton Roads Golf

21st Annual Golf Tournament - Thursday, September 9, 2010

AFCEA is a world-wide association of business men and women working together with members of the Armed Forces to visualize the future technological needs of the next-generation warfighter, to respond to those needs through research and development, and to encourage college-bound young men and women to pursue studies in Math, Science, Engineering, and Information Technology. ENCOURAGEMENT is in the form of SCHOLARSHIPS for deserving students.

All AFCEA chapters provide support to AFCEA International Headquarters to award scholarships at the national/international levels, and each chapter also awards LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS, JROTC leadership awards, provides judges and awards at local science fairs, and recognizes teachers instrumental in preparing today's young students for careers in science and engineering.

To this end the Hampton Roads Chapter of AFCEA holds Annual Golf Classics to support our Education Fund, and we added approximately $35,000 to our Education Fund with the proceeds from our 20th Anniversary Golf Classic in 2009. Our 21st Annual Golf Classic will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course, and we expect 200+ golfers to participate - we'll have shotgun starts at 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (Rain date is October 7, 2010.) To ensure GENUINE SUCCESS we need more than golfers; we need ADDITIONAL SUPPORT from sponsors like you.

Your support may be in the form of Tier, Team, Hole, Achievement or Flight sponsorship. You may also consider Silent Auction, and Door Prize sponsorship by contributing one or multiple gifts/gift certificates, e.g.: one-week stays for families at Outer Banks or time-shares elsewhere; works of art; chef-prepared meals in-home for six or more people; dinner for eight in a restaurant; week-end stays at resorts and hotels; airline tickets; tickets to shows, concerts, sporting events, theme parks or movies; golf shirts, sweatshirts, hats, or wind breakers; golf balls; golf clubs; rounds of golf; or other donations of value that may be used as skill prizes for our golfers (go to List of Available Sponsorship Donations).

A final form of sponsorship consists of contributing "Goodie-Bag" items to be distributed to all our golfers. It's our way of saying "Thank You" to the golfers for their participation and it recognizes sponsors for their support. Goodie-Bag items may be promotional, or "Logo," items that range from golf tees w/divot tool or ball marker, to golf towels, to golf balls, to pens or pencils, hats, or any useful item that advertises a company's name.
